About the Author:

Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani is the Grandshaykh of the world's largest Naqshbandi Sufi Order.

Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani is the spiritual heir of Grandshaykh Abdullah al-Faiz ad-Daghestani of Damascus whose wisdom an teachings are often referred to in this book.

Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is a scholar from the Middle East. He graduated with a B.A. in Chemistry from the American Universit of Beirut and then went to Louvain, Belgium to continue his medical studies. He later received his Islamic law degree.
Other books by the Shaykh include: The Naqshbandi Sufi way, Angels Unveiled, The Encyclopedia of Islamic Doctrine, and Women Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (with Dr. L. Bakhtiar). Shaykh Kabbani is also chairman of the Islamic Supreme Council of America, a religious organization based in Washington, D.C

It is related that, when Sayyiddina Shah Naqshband was a young man, he went to Mecca to perform his obligatory pilgrimage. When he arrived, he was met by Sayyiddina Khidr, who blessed him with his teachings and granted him a new cane as a gift. In Bukhara, this cane grew into a beautiful tree that gave shade to the area around Shah Naqshband's tomb for hundreds of years. Today, this great old tree lies prone, as a cane set aside while its owner takes rest. You can see that the wood of the tree forms the name of God in Arabic.
